FAQ

questions, answered.

Does it touch my files?

No. MIDIBOY only reads. It never moves, renames, deletes or uploads anything. When you FIT a file, it saves a new copy to Music › MIDIBOY Picks and leaves the original alone.

My Mac says MIDIBOY "can't be opened"?

That's macOS being careful with new apps. Click Done, open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway next to MIDIBOY, then Open. You only do it once, and the plugin works in your DAW after that.

Which DAWs does it work in?

The VST3 plugin loads in Ableton Live, FL Studio, Cubase, Bitwig, REAPER, Studio One and Reason. The AU loads in Logic Pro and GarageBand. For anything else, including Pro Tools, run the MIDIBOY app next to your DAW and drag files across.

Mac or Windows?

macOS right now, on Apple Silicon and Intel. Windows is next, and your PRO key will work on it too.

What's the difference between Free and PRO?

Free does the core loop: scan, shuffle, fit, drag, audit. PRO adds full search, the key, bars, tempo and feel filters, HIDE and crates. It's a one-time payment with no subscription.

How many computers can I use PRO on?

Two. Moving to a new machine? Click PRO, then DEACTIVATE THIS COMPUTER, and your key is free to use on the new one.

What if it's not for me?

You get a full refund within 14 days of buying PRO, no questions asked. Email support@midiboy.live or reply to your receipt. Your key stops working once the refund goes through.

Do I need to be online?

Only to activate PRO. After that it checks in every few days and keeps working offline for up to 30 days.

Something not working?

Email support@midiboy.live with what happened and your DAW. A real person reads every message.

Where does the MIDI come from?

Your own drive. MIDIBOY organizes the packs and files you already have and doesn't ship any MIDI of its own.
